Tribals for tiger


... A ritual of the Irulas of the Moyar valley, symbolising the spiritual attachment with the Tiger. There are many traditional belief among the irulas that the tigers are safeguarding their community. Also tiger symbolizes their God Banttan. The making of the tiger from wood is a great ritual. Only selected... members of the community, who undergo a set of rituals are allowed to carry the tiger along with their God. The dance Puliattam is a great feast of the eyes with mesmerising music from our Irula friends....
